How the Alcohol Units Calculator Works
This calculator totals up the alcohol units, calories, and a rough blood alcohol estimate from the drinks you log, using the UK standard unit system.
For each drink, units are calculated as volume (ml) × ABV (%) ÷ 1000, multiplied by how many you've had. Calories come from alcohol's roughly 56 kcal per unit, and the BAC estimate applies a simplified 0.02% rise per unit.
Example: Two pints of 5% beer (568ml each) work out to (568 × 5 ÷ 1000) × 2 = 5.7 units, or about 318 calories from alcohol alone.
